Almost two years go by. Sunji works diligently at his studies, and hard manual labour in the kitchen. The day arrives for Sunji's transformation. EXT. CHAKPORI LAMASERY - DUSK - EST A gust of wind breathes artificial life onto the fallen foliage; lofting the animated leaves across the roadside. Several MONKS disappear hastily behind the closing lamasery doors. An echoing RUMBLE is heard from the black belly of clouds above. INT. PRIVATE ROOM - NIGHT Sinji is lying awake in his robe, on a bed of cushions. Lama Bashir and two other LAMAS have knelt around Sunji. LAMA #1 removes a compress from Sunji's forehead. LAMA# 2 holds up an instrument; which he has been sterilizing through the flame of a lamp. He places it to the centre of Sunji's forehead. He steadily rotates the handle, until the end of the instrument penetrates the skin. He stops at the bone. After the operation, Sunji remains isolated in the room for three days. By this time, he no longer sees others in their regular form. He is overwhelmed by the pulsating electromagnetic waves and colours, emanating from each individual. Over the next several months, Lama Bashir guides and teaches Sunji on how to open and close The Third Eye at will, to avoid the intolerable burden it can bring. INT. LAMA BASHIR'S ROOM - DAY Sunji is being tutored by Lama Bashir; as they sit across from one another at the low table.
